Amy Adams was born in Italy in August of 1974. He father was in the US Army and was stationed in Caserma Ederle when she was born. The family moved frequently due to her father’s job but they eventually settled when Adams was 8 years old in Castle Rock, Colorado. Adams was raised Mormon until her parents divorced in 1985.

Adams sang in her high school choir and took up dancing, hoping to one day become a ballerina. She decided not to go to college in hopes of pursuing her dance career but after moving to Atlanta, she realized that as much as she loved it, she simply was not a gifted enough dancer. She entered musical theater instead and realized that this suited her well.  After graduating high school she worked for a short time at a Gap clothing store and performed in local theater. She finally needed to take a full time job at Hooters but left as soon as she had enough money for a car.

While working in a dinner theater, Adams was spotted by a producer who convinced her to move to Minneapolis and star in his 1999 film Drop Dead Gorgeous. Adams has since made numerous appearances in television series such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the West Wing. She starred in a direct to video feature called Cruel Intentions and in 2002, she worked on four films including Catch me if You Can. Adams had a big musical hit in Disney’s 2007 hit Enchanted, which grossed $340 million. Adams has been nominated for five Academy Awards, five Golden Globes, and four BAFTAs. She won a Best Actress Golden Globe award in 2013 for her role in American Hustle.

Adams has recently been cast in the role of Superman’s love interest Lois Lane in the new upcoming Superman film scheduled for release in 2016. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter and has a net worth of $35 million.
