Brad Paisley Biography
Brad Paisley was born in Glen Dale, West Virginia, in October of 1972. His grandfather gave him his first guitar and taught him to play when he was only 8 years old. He performed for his church by the time he was 10, and soon afterwards, he was performing at small events throughout his small town. He wrote his first song when he was 13 and began taking guitar lessons with a local guitarist. Paisley formed a band, “Brad Paisley and the C-Notes”, when he was 13. He got a weekly job performing as an opening act on a television show, Jamboree USA. He opened for famous country acts such as George Jones and The Judd’s.
Paisley made his debut with Arista Records in Nashville in 1999 with his song “Who Needs Pictures.” He had his first #1 hit in 1999 with “He Didn’t Have to Be.” Brad Paisley has since gone on to have more than 32 Top 10 singles and more than 18 number one hits. He was named Entertainer of the Year in 2010 at the CMA Awards. He has more than 10 studio albums to his name and has sold more than 12 million albums. Paisley has even traveled on Air Force One with President Obama to visit US troops in Afghanistan, where he played a full concert for the soldiers stationed there.
