Bruce Willis Biography
Walter Bruce Willis, best known by his stage name of Bruce Willis, was born in West Germany in March of 1955. His father was an American soldier who moved the Willis family to Carneys Point Township, New Jersey in 1957. As a child, Willis had a stuttering problem and schoolmates teased him calling him Buck Buck. Willis began performing in school plays and found that he had no stutter while acting. Immediately after graduating high school, Wills began working as a security guard, then later as a private investigator but he soon returned to acting. He enrolled in the drama program at Montclair State University. He moved to New York City in the early 1980’s and worked as a bartender while looking for acting jobs.
After numerous auditions, he landed roles in several off-Broadway plays, but moved to California to audition for television shows. He appeared in Miami Vice and the Twilight Zone, but his truly big break came when he was chosen out of 3,000 other actors to play opposite Cybil Shepherd in the very popular television series Moonlighting, which ran between 1985 and 1989. Willis has since gone on to become a super star, starring in the lucrative Die Hard series of movies, The Sixth Sense, Armageddon, Twelve Monkeys, and more than 60 other very successful films. His earnings and success from his top grossing films are matched by his endorsement deals, such as with Seagrams, as well as being a musician with three rock albums to his name.
Willis is also well-known for his 13 year marriage to actress Demi Moore. When the couple divorced in 2000, Willis cut a deal with Moore and wrote her a settlement check for $90 million. Willis owns luxurious homes in both Los Angeles and Malibu, a ranch in Montana, and another beach front home in Parrot Cay. Willis also owns money-making establishments including the Liberty Theater in Idaho and The Mint Bar. Willis is well-known for his love of expensive cars. With a current net worth of $180 million, Willis can afford to drive a different car every day of the year.
