Chris, Chris Hemsworth Biography

Chris Hemsworth was born in Melbourne, Australia in August of 1983. He was raised both in Melbourne as well as the Australian Outback as the family moved back and forth. He graduated from high school and in 2004, decided to enter auditions for a popular soap opera “Home and Away”. Although he was unsuccessful in getting the part he wanted, he was considered for a different part in the same soap opera, He had to move to Sydney where the show was filmed. After appearing in more than 170 episodes of this soap opera, he decided to leave the show and expand his acting career.

He worked a few other jobs including appearing on Dancing With the Stars Australia. Hemsworth finally found bigger success in America, earning the part of James T. Kirk’s father, George Kirk, in the film Star Trek. He also has worked in A Perfect Getaway, Ca$h, as well as Shadow Runner. However it was not until his role in the 2011 Marvel Studios film “Thor” did Hemsworth find true fortune and fame. Hemsworth has also worked in other successful films since Thor including the Ron Howard film “Rush”.  People magazine named Hemsworth their 2014 “Sexiest Man Alive”.

Hemsworth isn’t finished with his acting career, not by a long shot. Early in 2015 he starred in “Blackhat”, as well as reprising his role of Thor for the fourth time in the sequel to “The Avengers”.  He has co-starred in the comedy film “Vacation”, and will appear in the film “Heart of the Sea”, which is scheduled for release in 2016, another Thor move, “Thor: Ragnarok”, and “Avengers: Infinity War Part 1” scheduled for release in 2018 and part 2 in 2019. Considering this young actors schedule for the next 4 years, it should be no surprise when his current net worth of $70 million increases substantially.
