Gwyneth Kate Paltrow was born in September of 1972 in Los Angeles, California. Her mother was an actress and her father a film director/producer. She grew up in the Santa Monica, California, area, before attending a private girl’s school in New York City. She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, briefly studying anthropology, before she decided to drop out and pursue an acting career.

Her acting debut was a TV film that her father directed called High. She made a film debut with John Travolta called Shout in 1991, then Steven Spielberg’s film Hook in 1991. Some of Paltrow’s most popular movies are Emma, Seven, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Shakespeare in Love, Iron Man, and The Avengers.

Paltrow is almost as famous for her personal life as she is for her acting. After dating some of the most handsome men in Hollywood, such as Ben Affleck and Brad Pitt, she married the front man of Coldplay, Chris Martin. They have two children but recently announced that they were divorcing after 10 years of marriage.
