Justin Bieber Biography
Justin Bieber was born in London, Ontario, on March 1, 1994. His biological parents never married. Bieber was raised by his mother, grandmother, and stepfather. Bieber learned French, as well as piano, drums, guitar, and drums while he was growing up. When he was 12, Bieber sang Ne-Yo’s song “So Sick” for a local singing competition. He won second place. His mother uploaded videos of her son’s performances to YouTube, mainly for family, but she quickly found that visitors and followers to the site grew by leaps and bounds. Those videos led to his being discovered by Scooter Braun, a talent scout. He was soon signed by Raymond Braun Media Group, and later, L.S, Reid, who offered him a recording contract.
Bieber released his first extended play, My World, in November of 2009, and it went platinum in the US. He released his first studio album, My World 2.0, four months later. It also went platinum in the US and hit the top of the charts in many other countries. The second studio album, Under the Mistletoe, was released in late 2011 and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. His third album did the same. A mere 20 years old, this popular heart-throb has already sold a total of 15 million albums worldwide.
Bieber has received more than his share of criticism from the media but his fan base remains steady. He has received recognition from several world renowned award shows such as the American Music Awards both in 2010 and in 2012, he was recipient of Artist of the Year Award, and at the 53rd Grammy Awards, and he was nominated for both Best Pop Vocal Album and Best New Artist Awards.
Bieber has seen his share of trouble, however. In January of 2016, the Canadian pop star was on vacation in Tulum, Mexico, visiting the ruins that lie on a beautiful beach. Although visitors are able to climb some of the ruins, other parts which are considered to be unstable or in danger of being damaged are roped off. Bieber had apparently climbed over the ropes and had to be asked by security to leave the area. After other members of his party were also found going into restricted areas, Bieber and his party were asked to leave the ruins.
As of 2014, Bieber had more than 40 million Twitter followers. Bieber’s current net worth in 2016 is $200 million and he recently finished his sold out “Believe” tour.
