Kelcey Warren Biography

Kelcey Warren was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1955. He attended the University of Texas at Arlington, where he graduated with a degree in civil engineering in 1978. Warren then went to work for Lone Star Gas Company (then called Endevco), then working for Cornerstone Natural Gas from 1989 to 1990, as their Executive Vice-President, and from 1993 through 1996, he served as their chief executive officer and president. He has been working as the co-CEO and co-Chairman of Energy Transfer Partners since 2007.

Warren grew up around welding, helping with pipe and welding alongside his father for a pipeline company in East Texas. He soon discovered that he had a knack for buying pipeline companies that were undervalued and then squeezing a good deal of money out of them. Warren learned the pipeline business from the ground up and, along with Ray Davis; he built Energy Transfer Partners, which is now one of America’s largest pipeline companies, and making himself a billionaire in the process.

With more than 25 years of business experience in the energy difference, Warren decided to stretch himself further and in 2007, he co-founded his own recording studio, Music Road Records, which is based in Austin, Texas, in his 27,000 square foot mansion in Preston Hollow. This mansion has a $29 million dollar price tag with a walk in closet that is said to have a secret door, which leads to a room filled with expensive guitars.

Warren loves collecting music memorabilia, such as autographs and signed drumsticks. He is known for holding private concerts in his numerous homes. Warren owns an 8,000 acre ranch near Cherokee, Texas, an 8 acre estate in Park Lane, Dallas, Texas, which has been valued at more than $25 million, and a private island in the Honduras. With a current net worth of $6.5 billion, Warren can well afford to foot the bill for numerous concerts anywhere in the world.
