Kerry Washington was born in the Bronx, New York, in January of 1977. She attended the Spence School in Manhattan and was performing as a youngster with the TADA! Youth Theater teen group. She graduated from George Washington University in 1998 with a double major in sociology and anthropology. Washington also studied at Michael Howard Studios in New York.
