Ryan Seacrest Biography

Ryan Seacrest was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on Christmas Eve in 1974. Raised in the Dunwoody area, his mother said Seacrest had little interest in cars or in playing cowboys and Indians; instead, he had a toy microphone and loved giving little shows at his house.

While in high school, Seacrest won an internship at radio station WSTR in Atlanta. Seacrest received personal training from Tom Sullivan. Very shortly, whenever a regular DJ called in sick, Seacrest was filling in, and soon he was working the overnight shift on weekends. Seacrest continued working at the radio station until he graduated from high school. Seacrest then went to the University of Georgia in 1992, where he studied journalism. He kept up his regular show through a local Athens radio station. Seacrest became restless, however, and dropped out of school, moving to Los Angeles to continue a career in broadcasting.

Seacrest might be best known as the host for the television show American Idol. After the death of Casey Kasem, Seacrest became the host of the famous American Top 40 countdown show, the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve show, as well as hosting the Oscar Awards show for E! Television. Although he no longer hosts E! Television daily, he plans to contribute to the Today Show, news, and Olympic coverage. Seacrest is now a huge international star with his universally popular sign off “Seacrest out”.

Besides his radio shows and television appearances, Seacrest has produced his own reality shows such as Keeping Up With the Kardashians. He has plenty of financial savvy as well and has lucrative endorsements with Procter & Gamble, Bing, and Coca-Cola. Seacrest has also started his own cable network in cooperation with Mark Cuban.  Seacrest has a current net worth of $300 million.
